The Mary Livermore Library’s Digitized Collections consist of rare and historic materials, as well as ongoing activities at the University. The collections cover a wide range of subject areas, including UNCP events and history, faculty scholarship, Lumbee history, and local history. These collections were digitized from holdings in the Special Collections/Archives Area. The collections include select photographs from The Elmer W. Hunt Photograph Collection, the first college catalogs, UNCP yearbooks, and bibliographies of campus scholarship.
The digital repository is a service of the Mary Livermore Library. The primary goal of these digital collections is to digitize unique library materials and make them available electronically through this website. The collections are designed to support the research, teaching, and outreach mission of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and to preserve the cultural heritage of the University and the local communities, particularly the town of Pembroke which is the traditional home of the Lumbee Tribe, the largest Native American tribe east of the Mississippi River and the ninth largest tribal nation in the United States.
The collections contain images with descriptions and can be searched or browsed in the following ways: Names, Subjects, and Keywords. In most cases, the ownership of the images remains with the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and use or printing of the images must be attained from the Mary Livermore Library.
